The piston assembly is pulled upward when the armature assembly is attracted to open the main valve . When the coil i is de-energized, the armature assembly y returns by the reacting force of the return spring r and the pilot valve is closed. When the pilot valve is closed, the pressure inside the pilot chamber increases, resulting that the pressure difference from the inlet pressure is lost and the main valve is closed.
